Background

Nelson Netball Centre (NNC) aims to use the Competitions & Umpiring Working Group to keep evolving and improving its competition offers to provide positive experiences for all participants. The Working Group is an avenue for consultation and feedback that will inform future competition format and umpiring allocations while meeting the challenges of the dynamic and changing sporting landscape.  The establishment of the Working Group is intended to be a short-term arrangement to inform the effective delivery of netball and will include representation from most sectors of the game.

Role and Purpose

The Competitions and Umpiring Working Group provides a mechanism for members to offer feedback and advice on competition formats and umpiring allocations.  The group will help shape short term requirements and may influence longer-term strategy, optimizing the delivery of competitions and events for the NNC.

The Working Group will play a cooperative active role in working towards the best outcomes for NNC.  In doing so it will not be required to perform any operational functions or assume any management responsibilities. The Working Group will be formed at the end of each netball season and be involved for approximately 3-5 months, up to the start of the next netball season.  Ongoing input from the Working Group may be sought after this period.  The Working Group will report to Nelson Netball General Manager (NNC GM).
