INTRODUCING ANI-MARIE WAITAI - OUR NETBALLSMART CENTRE ACTIVATOR


NetballSmart is a Netball New Zealand, ACC funded national program.  It is an evidenced based framework made up of 6 principles helping to improve performance in a sport by preventing injuires.  NNC is delighted to announce the appointment of Ani to the role of NetballSmart Centre Activator covering Centres in the Tasman area.

Ani’s role will be to support the delivery of NetballSmart principles and practices within Nelson Netball Centre and the surrounding areas. For the last 20 or so years Ani has played and coached the game to a high level in Waikato and Nelson

Born and raised in Marlborough, Ani has come from a background that has been engrained in Netball.   She completed a Bachelor of Sport and Leisure Studies at the University of Waikato and then went on to complete a graduate diploma of Primary School Teaching.  During her time in Waikato, she represented the region which took her to various tournaments where she had the pleasure of working alongside some of New Zealand’s best players and coaches.  “It was an opportunity that I will never forget.  I was very fortunate to have been able to be exposed to that level of Netball. Playing alongside these players was such an amazing experience and I will be ever grateful for that”

“Netball is something that I am very passionate about. I love being able to share my knowledge with others and this role will allow me to do that.  I am very excited to have this opportunity”

Ani will be based at the Nelson Netball Office.  You will see her around the courts in her bright orange NetballSmart apparel, so please feel free to say hello and have a chat.
